Maheshmal is approximately 12 km from Khultabad and 40km from Aurangabad. It is aptly known as the Tirupati of Marathwada and is bestowed with a beautiful natural ambience. Cool atmosphere, pleasing greenery and magnificent view are major attractions for the visitors and devotees who cannot visit Shri Balaji often come to seek the blessings at the replica of Tirupati temple at Maheshmal. This Balaji Mandir has a small story of itself. A devotee of Lord Venkatesha, Late Mr K. D. Gadiya once had a divine intuition and to follow his dream, he decided to build a temple of Lord Venkatesha. He chose Mahesmal for the holy work. He and his family completed the dream with devotion and zeal. The temple was built in a period of 2 yrs. The idol of Lord Venkatesha is an exact replica of Balaji at the Temple in Tirupati. It is said that that sacred natural ambience of Maheshmal was bestowed by the Lord himself.
It is also believed that in ancient times Lord Shankara meditated here. Even the renowned Shri. Gorakshanatha of Navanath tradition chose this place for his meditation. Later on a temple of Shri. Gorakshanatha was build here. Maheshmal is considered as Tirupati of Marathwada and has many traditions of Tirupati followed in the same way. The daily rituals and pujas are performed exactly as per the Tirupati temple. Today the temple is very famous and has lot of devotees visiting periodically for the Utsavas and gaining blessings of Lord Venkatesha. Nature

Mahesmal has a rich forest coverage around it and is spread over 200 acres. It is located on a picturesque hill at an altitude of 1067 mtrs above sea level. The temperature is cool and moderate throughout the year. God seems to have bestowed Maheshmal with natural beauty. The plains here end with hillside forming a magnificent series of hills. The Balaji temple is situated on the edge of a hill. The steep hillside below and the lovely horizon above give a magnificent background to the temple. One can feel a brilliant painting coming into being. To add to the beauty there are two lakes near the temple to make it a perfect landscape! Although the atmosphere is lovely throughout the year the best time is from August to December, when the exotic greens are spread over the entire terrain. The Air is full of raindrops and the clouds below you and you can actually feel the clouds here. You can touch the clouds as they sway by you. It is indeed an experience in itself, which cannot be described but needs to be witnessed and experienced. Maheshmal soothes your senses to give a supreme feel and ultimate peace of mind to be at a divine spot on the face of earth.
